Can you help me with branding for my esthetician website?

We hope to offer full branding services in the future. But for now, we ask our clients to provide us with their brand kit when we work together. For an extra fee, we can help you with choosing fonts and colors, but we do not offer logo design. For a full rebrand, we can refer you to some of the best brand designers to revamp your entire brand!

How long does it take to build a website?

The timeline varies based on the complexity of the site we’re creating, but most projects are completed within 8-12 weeks.

Do you provide ongoing support after the website is live?

Yes! We aren’t like other web designers. We don’t create a website for you and then leave you stranded. We become your strategic partners and are in it for the long haul. After we launch, you’ll receive 14 days of unlimited support. After those two weeks are up, we offer monthly support packages that start at $250/mo. If you’re interested, we can discuss which package is best for your needs once we launch!

Can you integrate booking systems into my website?

All of our sites have strategic “Book Now” call-to-action buttons throughout your site that will link to your booking software. Your website and your booking software? Match made in heaven.

Can I see some of your previous work?

Yes, we’d love for you to check out our work before investing with us to ensure our style matches what you’re looking for. Check out our work here.

How do payments work?

To reserve our services, a deposit is required. Since we book out months in advance, we want to make sure we secure your spot for a later kick-off date. When you get your proposal, you can choose your payment schedule. You can split payments into up to 6. The more payments, the smaller your deposit will be! All payments are securely made through our CMS Honeybook.

Do you provide training on how to manage my website?

Up to you! If you’re a DIY girly, we can provide a quick video tutorial on how to make edits to your site. Most of our clients work with us on a retainer basis post-launch so they can continue to focus on serving their clients in person and don’t have to worry about ever editing their site cause we’ve got their back!

Do all e-commerce website packages have SEO?

We are KNOWN for top-notch SEO. You’ll have basic SEO incorporated into all site design and store setups, with a possible upgraded add on if you're looking for more strategic SEO. If you’re interested in a long-term SEO strategy, we offer support packages post-launch.

What do you recommend I have ready before we work together?

Above all, we recommend investing in a photoshoot. We can make an absolute killer website, but at the end of the day, photos can make or break a website! Schedule a photoshoot. If you want guidance on photo types, reach out. We'll send our shot list to share with your photographer. Also, have your domain (your site's URL) ready. Plus, have your branding kit with your logo, brand colors, fonts, bio, and a list of your services.

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

We start designing your homepage and get your feedback before diving into the rest (we’ll admit– there’s nothing like that dopamine hit when you obsess over the home page!) I am so grateful to live in a world with seasons. Winter comes every year to remind us to slow down and reflect. Yesterday I turned 30 and to welcome in a new decade, I wanted to share things I have learned since starting my business. I’ll never forget graduating university, being 21, and thinking there had to be more to life than joining a corporate job straight out of college. If you aren’t seeing results with your eComm store I can almost guarantee it’s because of one of these things. 1. You aren’t talking about your products enough. I need you to YAP about your products. Do you know how many ads we’re exposed to in a single day? (it’s A LOT!!) A single IG story is *cute* but I’m going to need you to talk about them as much as you love them. 2. Your website doesn’t have filters! People want to find what they are looking for with ease, so make it easier to do so! 3. You only have your products on one page of your site. You need to have them all over it. Make it obvious your site is an eComm site! 4. You don’t share your product links enough! You’ll make your skincare routine video and then not create a direct way for your community to shop it. Make it easy for your people to buy by adding links. (BTW - when we create your store in Shopify, you’ll be able to easily link your Ahopify If I’m going to be real though, the biggest thing you need to do is talk about your products more. Once you think you’ve annoyed everyone with how much you’ve talked about your products, I’m gonna need you to talk about them even more k thnx byeeee 😉😌

First off, what is a domain? Your domain is the URL of your website. If you ever want to have a website in the future, we highly recommend purchasing a domain sooner than later so no one can take it from you! It costs anywhere from $10 to $30 a year and is worth having in your back pocket for whenever you need it. There are lots of options of where you can purchase a domain but we always recommend Godaddy. Other popular ones are Squarespace or Bluehost. Once you purchase your domain, do not lose your login information. Write it down because if you ever lost it or can’t access your domain, it’s nearly impossible to gain access. One of my favorite parts of getting older has been unlearning the belief that I have to change who I am to be loved and accepted. I tried on so many “hats” in my 20s. A travel blogger, a podcaster, au pair, a project manager, waitress, van lifer, a camp founder, beerista, the owner of a web design agency. Each time I tried something new, I learned something about myself. I learned my strengths, my weaknesses, what I love, what brings me energy and what doesn’t. And with each thing, with each year that has gone by, I have become more and more sure of who I am and all I bring to the table. So much unlocked for me this year when I stopped trying to be who I thought people wanted me to be and I just focused on being who I wanted to be. My yeses and nos are more genuine. I get to work with my dream clients. And my relationships are deeper than ever before. I am so grateful for this life. I am so grateful for the opportunity to try things! To fail! To succeed! Two things come to mind when we hear this from our estis. One - what does successful mean to you? Is it a monetary amount or is it building a strong foundation? Sure if you don’t have a huge following or client base yet, you most likely aren’t going to have a $50k launch. Don’t be disheartened by this and instead, focus on the fact that success looks like setting yourself up for success. When you set up your systems correctly the first time, you are creating a strong foundation for growth. As you grow, as you sell more product, as you gain more clients, you will continue to grow in a sustainable way because you took the time to invest in an ecomm website that is set up correctly. Two - Your clients, no matter how many you have, want to buy your products. Why not make it easy for them? Make it easy for them, make it easy for you! It’s great if you are running the site solo and don’t want to pay someone to code your site. BUT if you’re really ready to prioritize online sales, Shopify is where it’s at. I mean — there’s a reason why companies like Skims and Sephora choose to use Shopify! 🤑 Shopify may be a *bIt* more complex, but it offers so much tooling that allows you to scale your business seamlessly. Let me guess, your day typically looks like this: You wake up and get to the studio for your morning appointments. As you’re mid-appointment you get a *ping*, it’s a repeat client asking about buying that cleanser you used on them last week. You wait to finish up the appointment before running to your cabinet to check and see what you have in stock. You text the client and tell them you have it, and they can Venmo you (which you end up having to pay the consequences for at the end of the month because you can’t easily keep track of where money is coming from). As soon as you’re done handling that, your next appointment comes in. Ya live and learn, right? 🙂🙃 When I first started taking on clients as a web designer, I was charging $500 and said yes! to every single change, request, or add on a client asked for without charging them for it. Imagine a client coming in for a facial and then asks for a lash lift, wax, and dermaplane and you just charged them for a facial 😅 As the years have gone by, I’ve learned how to set boundaries to keep myself and my client happy, grown a lot as a designer, and have years of experience understanding what a website needs that baby Joelle just didn’t even know yet. Remember, you get what you pay for! Investing in a website can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars. When you’re paying a premium for a website, you’re not only paying for a web designers industry knowledge but also the peace of mind it will be done correctly the first time. Here are some mistakes I wish I could tell baby Joelle to avoid: 🌟 Charge for Branding I used to offer full brand kits (fonts, colors, and logo) as part of my website package. Aka I was giving A LOT of extra work for free. This led to burn out and resentment and it was easily avoidable by having it be an extra fee! 🌟 Check All Buttons There is nothing that can lose a visitor like buttons or links that don’t go where they are supposed to. Check your buttons and links on ALL devices before going live. 🌟 Add Privacy and Terms “Privacy and terms pages? No one reads those, they aren’t important.” WRONG. Even if no one reads them, they legally protect your ass. Make sure your website has them. 🌟 Add SEO keywords There is indeed a difference between making a pretty site and making a pretty site that is ALSO SEO friendly. Your web designer should be doing some basic keyword research and using that on your site to ensure more eyes are going to get on your beautiful site! 🌟 Keep Accessibility in Mind This is the BIGGEST one and one I still see soooo many web designers not doing. Make sure your website is accessible by correctly labeling your headings, checking the contrast on your colors and text, and adding alt text to images. The last thing we want is you to be sued for having an inaccessible site 😓

This was my fourth time visiting NYC and when I tell you I had NEVER understood the appeal of living here.. it always felt like a place I would visit but never live. But this time? I finally get it. NYC is a city of possibilities. It’s a city with so many types of people, outfits, places, and opportunity. You can be anyone you want to be in New York. This trip made me realize that the world is BIG. That both excited me and humbled me. I was reminded that just because everyone around you is doing one thing, or in a certain stage of life, doesn’t mean that you have to be on the same timeline. I’ve recently felt so much pressure to be farther ahead in business. To be married and own a home. Start a family and slow down. Constantly feeling like I’m playing catch up and always behind. Sometimes it takes getting out of your daily bubble to realize that life truly is, at all times, whatever you want it to be. I’ve got some ideas up my sleeve and I’m excited to see how things pan out the rest of this year. All I know is that I’ve got some living to do and some big dreams to chase! The footer is the last chance you have to give your visitors the opportunity to find what they need! 🔍 So in your footer, you want to put important links that might not be easily found on the home page, top navigation, or other pages on your site. How fast will it load? Can people easily find what they are looking for? Are all buttons and links correctly linked? To be an entrepreneur is to be changed. I remember being a year into my business and feeling like a total failure for not hitting six figures yet. I felt like everywhere I looked it was “Here’s how I made six figures in six months!” “I left my job and made $350k in 3 months!” “Here’s what you need to do to make $100k this year” 😵‍💫 Rule number one of entrepreneurship: focus on your journey and your journey alone. I didn’t hit six figures in my 2nd year.. or my 4th.. or my 5th. But the number slowly got bigger every year. I tried things that worked, some that didn’t. I sold offers that no one bought. I joined a corporate job for a year and a half. I rebranded over and over until I finally felt like my brand represented who I was on and off screen. I built websites for hundreds of businesses and business owners. I followed what I was good at and invested more time into that. I burnt out. I learned to accept help in areas that I previously hid my head in the sand for. I restarted my Instagram from scratch. I started a podcast and attended masterminds. I became a Shopify expert. Each and every thing that’s happened in the last 7 years was a pebble on my mountain. Even though the pebbles felt meaningless to start, I still added to my mountain. Little by little. Instead of chasing metrics, I focused on delivering an exceptional product to every single person that decided to invest in me. I stopped comparing my journey to everyone’s else. I figured out the areas I was getting in my own way and made adjustments. And now? Well now I’ve got a pretty great mountain. And not only that, my mountain allows me to reach my hand down and lift up other women so they can succeed on their own mountains too. To be an entrepreneur is to be changed. I get it, you don’t read blogs so you feel like writing blogs is a waste of time 😵‍💫 But I’m here to tell you that atleast one person is “reading your blog” and that’s GOOGLE! The more keywords you have on your site like “acne” “facial” “laser” “skincare salon”, the more Google recognizes “Hey, this is a website about skin care!”. So whenever someone in your area searches for a facial, Google will show your site because it knows, without a doubt, that your website is what they are looking for! A great way to get more keywords on your site is through blogs. (You can also work with us to ensure your website is designed to be as SEO rich as possible 😉) If you can swing it, write one blog a month or every other month and use keywords like your city and your services to start popping up higher on search results!
